He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. D. Ross Haney and Neva Ruth Haney (Perrill); and his siblings, Ruth Schwieterman (Haney) and Daniel Haney. He is survived by: his wife Fran Haney (Dunning) of Butler; his daughter Laura Haney (Andrew McMahon) of St. Louis; his stepsons, Mat Huffman (Pam) of Springfield and Tom Huffman (Debbie) of Lee's Summit; and his grandchildren, Riker McMahon, Andy Huffman (Sydney), Troy Huffman, Shawn Huffman, Kyle Tiggemann (Lyndi), Blake Tiggemann (Christa) and Cara Villa.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Butler Presbyterian Church.
