O'Brien Sr. of California, Missouri, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on October 21, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William O'Brien and Margaret Louise O'Brien (Pluempe); his wife Melba Joan Hughes; and his siblings, James R. (Shirley) of Alton, William F. Jr., Mary Ann (Mennerick) and Catherine (Rose-Gibson).

He is survived by: his former wives, Mary Johanna Peipert and Mary Lindsay (Peipert); his brother Paul; and his children, Edward Joseph, Jr. (Judy), Thomas William (Cathie), Timothy Paul (Traci) and Elizabeth Ann White (James Furr). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
