He was predeceased by: his father James Salchow; and his sister Sue Vandergrift. He is survived by: his mother Bunice Salchow (Ayres); his wife Linda; his children, Rena Middleton (Todd), Donnie Shepard (Kala), David Salchow (Ann) and Tammy Jacobs (Christopher); his grandson Justin Middleton (Anna); his great grandchildren, Landon and Sawyer; his grandchildren, Tyler Middleton, Grant Geiser and Colby Backus (Jedidiah); his great grandchildren, Ava, Connor Geiser, Katie Salchow, Charley Geiser, Grace Salchow, Tanner Jacobs and Cooper Jacobs; and his sister Paulette Phillips (Richard). He is also survived by numerous extended family and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church (804 US-60, Republic, MO) or to American Red Cross (313 Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65807).
