He was predeceased by: his daughter Sherry; his brother Robert "Bob" Berns; and his parents, Charles Berns and Ethel Berns. He is survived by: his wife Suzan Rae Berns; his daughters, Julie Lipson and Rebecca "Becky" Berns; his grandsons, Tyler and Tanner Lipson; his sister Aileen Tucker (Jimmy); and his siblings-in-law, Joie Greenstein (Michael) and Stanley Plocker (Judy).
