He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Penner and Goldie Penner (Horton); and his brother Jerry Penner. He is survived by: his wife Karen (Tumberger) of Independence; his sister Brenda Penner (Steve) of Astoria, Oregon; his sons, Joseph (Kelli) of Lee's Summit, David (Amanda) of Independence and Andrew (Sharif) of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandsons, Daniel Paul, Frank Russell and Gabriel Louis; his sisters-in-law, Connie Brown of Roeland Park and Christy Tumberger (Diane) of Clinton, Missouri; and his sibling's children, Harrison, Spencer, Susan and Heather.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to The Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Eucharist Convent and the Boy Scouts of America.
