He was predeceased by : his parents, Willis R. Harmon and Wilma Clastine Harmon (Malott); his former life partner Donna L. King of Homer, NE; his spouse Shirley Dean Gardner of Henrietta; his grandson Zachary Gertson; and his siblings, Thomas Marlon "Tom" Harmon and Marsha McKay.

He is survived by : his daughters, Tammy Parker (Jeff) of Plattsmouth, NE, Tracy Marin of Kansas City, Terrie Langford of Claycomo, Jamie Jones of Kansas City and Jennie O'Donnell; his stepdaughters, Patty Conrick (John) of Excelsior Springs and Dena Bradley (Ron) of Liberty; and his sister-in-law Wynema Harmon of Richmond. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Melvin Harmon Memorial Fund.
