He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Burgess and Julie McDaniel Burgess; his son Tony Lee Burgess; and his brothers, Jack, Charles, William and Richard Burgess.
He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Julie McMillian, Patty Staggs (Cricket), Amanda Mundy (Michael) and Jason Burgess (Paula); his grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Christopher, Brett, Kyla, Yazmin, Mason and Leah; and his brother Jimmy Burgess. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
A memorial has been established to the family and donations may be left at the funeral home.
