He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith Mae Dickinson Basnett and William Basnett; his siblings, Helen Cochran, Eddie Basnett and Bobby Ray Basnett; and his brother-in-law Charles Roberts.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Basnett; his daughters, Kim Gaines (Perry) of Lebanon and Kristin Basnett (Mary Imo) of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren, Ryan Gaines (Rebekah) and McKenzie Gaines (Danny Yepson); his great grandchild Margot Lennox Gaines; his siblings, Shirlee Roberts, Barbara Smith (Bland), Marvin Basnett (Brenda) and Linda Basnett; and his siblings-in-law, Willa Mae Basnett and Richard "Dick" Cochran. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
