He was predeceased by: his parents, Norville Eugene and Minnie Angelina VanMeter (Muff); his wife Jeanne VanMeter; and his siblings, Roy VanMeter, Walter VanMeter, Margret VanMeter and Betty Bartlett.
He is survived by: his sons, Anthony (Oni VanMeter), Rany (Jodi VanMeter), Mark and Robin VanMeter; his sister Mary Bryan; and his grandchildren, Cole (Jamie VanMeter), Andrew (Jessica VanMeter), Samantha (John Horn), Sydney (Ellis Feliz), Mark (Samantha VanMeter), Bobby Shanks, Tony (Renee Benson) and Tasha (Erik Ramos). He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
