He was predeceased by : his parents, Eugene Akey and Margaret Akey (Swords); his son Rodney James; and his sisters, Katherine Frazier and Donna Duckworth.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara L. Hollingsworth; his children, Lisa Ceh (Steve), Caboolture Queensland, Tonya Sharp (Doug) of Kearney, MO and Todd Akey (Diane) of Lawson, MO; his grandchildren, Brooke Moffitt, Brodie Sharp, Tyler and Taylor Akey; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Maxwell, Paxton, Everlee, Weston, Lennon, Ridge and Hollis.

Memorial fund designated to St. Rita's Building Fund.
