He was predeceased by: his grandfather Jack; his parents, John Jackson Hampton and Effie Mae Hampton (Patterson); his spouse Merle Wilson; his siblings, Kenneth Hampton, Johnny Dwight Hampton and Francetta Hamlett; and his stepson Gary Wilson.
He is survived by: his uncle Jack; his stepdaughters, Lavonda Pyle (Carl) of Campbell, Missouri, Deronda Propst (Mitchell) of Dexter, Missouri, Shiela Boyles (Larry) of Fisk, Missouri and Pam Daily (George) of Canyon Lake, Texas; his children, Andrea Landewee (Michael) of Kelso, Missouri and Brian Hampton (Beverly) of Malden, Missouri; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Landewee (Marshall Beatty) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Alicia Below (Terrence) of Kelso, Missouri, Adrianna Holman (Steve) of Kelso, Missouri, John Hampton (Alissa) of Clarkton, Missouri and Mary Allison Nice (Michael) of Springfield, Missouri; and his great grandchild Brinley Below of Kelso, Missouri. He is also survived by eight step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
