She was predeceased by: her parents, John Baker and Faye Baker (Kenoyer); her husband Jerald Carpenter; her son Jerry Don Carpenter; and her stepdaughter Marti Helm (Carpenter).

She is survived by: her children, Judy Mayer (Dennis) of Monticello, MO and Dr. Scott Carpenter (Debbie) of Abingdon, IL; her grandchildren, Laurie, Chuck, Andrew and Paige; her stepgrandchildren, Ann and Jeff; her brother John Baker; and her stepgranddaughter Julie Walker. She is also survived by many great grandchildren.
