He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Benefield and Bertha Phillips Benefield; his daughter Cindy Marie Benefield; his son-in-law Richard Buckelew, Jr.; his siblings, Russell Benefield (Alice), Charles Benefield (Ollie), Paul Benefield (Peggy), Earl Benefield (Poochy), Lawrence Benefield (Jennis) and Louise Matlock (John); and his brother-in-law Glenn Schearf.
He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Benefield (Karen) of Jackson, Missouri and Tim Benefield (Lynnette) of Jackson, Missouri; his sisters, Virginia Schearf of Cape Girardeau, Clara Mae Tucker (Bob) and Alice Green (Dave) of Scott City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Kayla Bredekamp (Caylee Wheeler) of Cape Girardeau, Cody Bredekamp of Cape Girardeau and Casey Benefield (Kailyn) of Overland Park, Kansas; and his great grandchild Kinley Benefield of Overland Park, Kansas..
