He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey Cade Carter Jr. and Lois Cribbs Carter; his son Carey Cade IV; and his nephew Ross Treadwell. He is survived by: his wife Pat of Kelso, Missouri.; his children, Erin Pulley (Chris) of Jackson, Travis Cook (Amanda) of Decatur and Vickie Reeves (Jim) of Bethlehem, Georgia; his siblings, Martha Carter Cook of Greensboro and Allen W. Carter of Hartwell, Georgia; and his pet Southside. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
