He was predeceased by: his parents, Florian James Armstrong and Lula Jane Armstrong (Smith) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.; his wife Connie of St. Louis; and his siblings, Russell Armstrong (Luella), Olive Keller (Albert), Bonnie Ludwig (Vernon) and Eileen Gannon (Marty).
He is survived by: his children, Vivian Behne (Mike), Sonya Skaggs (Tim), David Armstrong (Cindy), Chris Armstrong (Erin) and Dan Armstrong (Nicole); his grandchildren, Beth, John, Sarah, Kristen, Kevin, Patrick, Justin, Meaghan, Ethan, Andrew, Lilah, Cian, Amelia and Ryder; and his caregivers, Margie Burton, Helen Ireland, Rhonda Kilburn and Barbara Wilson. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Cape Girardeau (829 North West End Boulevard, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM at the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery (2315 US-61, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701).
