He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Alexander and Beatrice Adeline Patterson (Walker); his sisters, Betty Isslieb and Claudine Reynolds; and his grandson Matthew Glenn Patterson.
He is survived by: his sons, David Patterson of Bixby, OK and Douglas Patterson (Donna) of Williams, AZ; his grandchildren, Carly Salthouse (Ricky), Kyle, Daniel Patterson (Tracey) of Katy, TX, Samuel and Molly (Samuel Bevet); his daughter Dori Upham of Cape Girardeau, MO; his grandson Gregory Bearce (Lindsey); his great grandchildren, Ian and Felicity; his siblings, George Patterson of De Soto, Tom Patterson (Donna) of Monett, MO, Carolyn Hamel of St. Charles, MO and Martha Queen (Eddie) of De Soto; Elizabeth Bearce.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New McKendree United Methodist Church (225 S High St, Jackson, MO 63755).
