He was predeceased by: his parents, Fonnie Wilson and Emma Jean "Teenie" Webb Jones. He is survived by: his wife Marlena of Cape Girardeau; his sister Kay Francis Smith (Ronald); his nephews, Brent Smith and Mark Smith (Jocelyn); his great-nephews, Noah and Liam; his nephew Scott Smith (Treasa); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nathan of Seattle, Washington and Zené of Seattle, Washington; his son J. W. Nay of Atlanta; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Weston of Grand Junction and Nancy Wood (Tom) of Price, Utah; and his nephews, David Weston (Anna) of Flower Mound, Tommy Wood and Jeff Wood (Emily). He is also survived by cousins and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
