With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frances E Brotherton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. James L. McElroy and Ollie O. Nicholas McElroy; her husbands, Lem O. Tranum and Delmar J. Brotherton; and her son David Tranum.
She is survived by: her children, Sherri Pierce (Steve) of Cape Girardeau and Mark Tranum of St. Louis, Missouri; her grandchildren, Melissa Miller (Josh), Jennifer Wills (Jamie), Alisha Tranum, Jessica Tranum, Nathan Pierce (Chasity), Jonathan Pierce, Benjamin Pierce and Marc Tranum (Kim); and her siblings, James McElroy (Bonnie) of Yuma, Arizona and Ollie Ruth Swanson of Ingram, Texas.. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
