He was predeceased by : his parents, Dannie Hiett and Ruth Montgomery Hiett; his siblings, Pat Donaldson and Doug Hiett; his son-in-law Kenny McFerron; his stepson Keith Bannister; and his son Roger Lynn Hiett.

He is survived by : his wife Helen Bannister of Cape Girardeau; his children, Jan McFerron (Steve Valliere), Randy Hiett (Garia) of Cape Girardeau, Wayne Hiett (Pam) of Cape Girardeau and Brad Hiett (Brenda) of Cape Girardeau; his grandchildren, Derek Hiett (Suzanne) of Marble Hill, Ross McFerron (Alisa) of Cape Girardeau, Tanner Hiett (Aly) of Jackson, Josh Hiett of Cape Girardeau, Lindsey Medley of Cape Girardeau, Emily Alley (Kyle) of Cape Girardeau and Brittney Rhodes (Lance) of Carterville, Illinois; his stepdaughters, Janis Roddy (Randy) of Nevada and Judy Patenaude (Paul) of Midlothian, Texas; his sisters, Peggy Garnett and Carolyn Ossick of Athens, Georgia; his sister-in-law Eva Lou Black of St. Louis, Missouri; and his great grandchildren, Derek Hiett, Ross McFerron, Tanner Hiett, Josh Hiett, Hunter Hiett and Landen Hiett. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
