He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie Johnson and Julia Johnson (Britt); and his children, Clyde Pickett, Robena Douglas and Claudia Jean Winters.
He is survived by: his wife Clara; his children, Arthur "Bunny" Gilwater, Lee "Woddy" Winters (Carly), Henry Winters, Jr., Esther "Tammie" Gilwater, Jenny Shurn and Donna Winters; and his sister Hattie Mae Elmore. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
