He was predeceased by: his parents, James Matthew and Anna Berenice Nenninger Shannon; his son Kevin Shannon; his wife Brenda Mae Roth; his daughter Kathleen; his daughter-in-law Becky Seneker Shannon; and his siblings, Mick Shannon (Marlene) and Patricia Fieno (Bernard).
He is survived by: his sons, Patrick Shannon (Susan Campbell) of Holts Summit, Missouri and Matthew Shannon (Serene) of Marysville, Ohio; his grandson Andrew Shannon (Adline Pierson) of St. Paul, Minnesota; his children, Emma Burmeister (Josh) of Macon, Missouri, Michael Shannon, Trevor Campbell, Ross Campbell of Holts Summit, Suzy, Deklin, Rachel and Morgan Shannon of Marysville, Ohio; his great grandchildren, Becca and Payton Burmeister of Macon; and his brother John Shannon (Sharon) of Cape Girardeau.
