It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerome W. Burford of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, born in Doniphan, Missouri, who passed away on April 11, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin King Burford, Sr. and Anna Ruth Whitfield Burford; and his siblings, Edwin King Burford, Jr. and Ruth Peyton Burford Harris. He is survived by: his children, Jiaan Burford (Katelyn) of Lancaster, KY, David Burford of California and Joy Ann Statler of Poplar Bluff; and his sisters-in-law, Tonya Hill (Greg) of Poplar Bluff and Sue Burford of Cape Girardeau.

“Please except my deepest sympathy with your loss and our loss too. Whit was one of my best friends and taught me a lot before i started in Law Enforcement. My dad and I had Fowler Gas Company and I started as Chief of Police in Naylor in the late 70's and Early 80's. I moved to Poplar Bluff in 1983 working at the VA John J.
