It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Clifton (Cape Girardeau, Missouri), born in Jackson, Missouri, who passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Clifton and Roscoe Clifton; his sisters, Virginia Thiele (Floyd), Mary Lou Hughey (Jim), Betty Jaco (Gene) and Margaret Niswonger (Gary); his niece Susie Ellison (John); and his niece-in-law Tracy Hughey.
He is survived by: his pets, Tiger, Charlie Brown, Trixie, Hunter, Blackie and Daisy; his wife Deborah Clifton (Kamp); his sons, Scott Clifton (Katherine) of Naperville, IL and Chris Clifton (Karla) of Cape Girardeau; his grandchildren, Morgan Clifton of Naperville and Anthony Clifton (Felicity) of Grays, UK; his great grandchildren, Lucas Pacheco and Lexi Clifton; his nieces and nephews, Jim Hughey of Missouri City, TX, Scott Hughey of Trinidad, CO, David Niswonger (Victoria) of Chesterfield, MO, Beth Amaro (Mike) of Houston, TX and Deborah Pohlman (Mel) of Elburn, IL; and his close friend Janet Berendzen. He is also survived by three grand-nieces and five grand-nephews.
