It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Agnes James of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who passed away on December 17, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph A. Kirchdoerfer and Mary F. Heuring Kirchdoerfer; her siblings, Anton Kirchdoerfer and Stella Ostendorf (Fred); and her grandchildren, Elliot and Katrina James.

She is survived by: her children, Ruth Sawyer (David) of Yantis, Elizabeth Aufdenberg (Dennis) of Burfordville, Robert James Jr. (Donna) of Cape Girardeau, Dennis James (Karen) of Leopold, Paul James (Sherry) of Cape Girardeau, Anita Essner (Mark) of Kelso, Ralph James (Monica) of Jackson, Angela Poindexter of St. Charles, Sara Heuer (Jeff) of Cape Girardeau and Mark James (Julie) of Jackson; and her siblings, Adella Frank (late Alvin) of Chaffee and Joe Kirchdoerfer (Mildred) of Cape Girardeau. She is also survived by mother to her 10 children.

The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Mary Cathedral Education Foundation.
