He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Whitson and Lorena Whitson (Dalton); and his siblings, Bill Whitson and Barbara Shock. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Whitson (Carrel); his daughter Tina Kolwyck; his grandchildren, Chase Kolwyck and Jimmy Whitson; his stepchild Kelly Tyberendt (Mark); his stepgranddaughter Isabella Scire; his sister Jeanie Haertling (John); his nieces, Jeanie Rhodes (Joel), Olivia Bess-Rhodes and Ella Rhodes; and his nephew Alex Bess-Rhodes.
The military honors will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery (17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, MO 63825).
