She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin H. VanGennip and Rose Heimsath VanGennip; her husband Alfred; her son Ray; and her son-in-law Steve Niswonger.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Laurentius (Diane), Randy Laurentius, Jim (Sherri Rogers), Rick Laurentius and Shirley Niswonger (Steve); her grandchildren, Jeremy Laurentius, Kelli Birk (Marcus), Lisa Hudson (Paul), Danny Laurentius (Tonya), Sebastian Laurentius and Kaitlyn Laurentius; her great grandchildren, Tyler Hudson, Caleb Hudson and Clayton Birk; her brother Ed VanGennip; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Laurentius, Wilma VanGennip and Melva McFarland.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Cathedral (615 William St, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703).
