He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert McGuffee and Eddie McGuffee (Bragg); his wife Elfriede W. McGuffee (Stöeberlein); his son Samuel A. McGuffee, Jr.; and his siblings, Polly Currie, Albert McGuffee, Evelyn Johnson, Russell McGuffee, Florine Barland, Susie Newman, Minnie McGuffee, Joseph McGuffee and Kathryn Price.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Carter, Annie Willis (David), Susie Hildebrand (David) and Austin McGuffee (Debbie); his grandchildren, Erin Boyer, Samantha Barnes (Travis), Justin McGuffee, Ashley Hughes (Jesse), Jennifer Shannon (Eric), Jamie Fileta (Santiago) and Simone Moore (Nathan); and his great grandchildren, Jeremiah Garner, Frankie Boyer, Colton Boyer, Jaxson Boyer, Wyatt Barnes, Morgan Barnes, Rosalie Hughes and Jude Shannon.
