She is survived by: her son Douglas Mayfield (Denise) of Millersville, MO; her daughter-in-law Tammie Mayfield of Jackson, MO; her grandchildren, Chad Mayfield (Robin) of Oran, MO, Ashley McDowell (Chance) of Jackson, MO, Leslie Mayfield (Gary) of Jackson, MO and Rachel Shelton (John) of Midlothian, VA; her great grandchildren, Elijah Mayfield (Autumn), Camren, Rozlyn McDowell, Cade Shelton, Bradley, Laney, Ayden and Lillian Laurentias; her siblings, Leola King (J. D.) of Cape Girardeau, MO, LaDonna Duncan (Mike) of Hopkinsville, KY, Melvin Rhodes (Charolette) of Jackson, MO, Ellis Rhodes and Earl Rhodes (Phyllis) of Cape Girardeau, MO; and her brother-in-law Glenn Mayfield (Naola).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McCombs Funeral Home & Cremation Center (640 W Independence St, Jackson, MO 63755). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Vera's memory be made to the First Baptist Church of Millersville, MO.
