He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kirkland "Kirk" Bowman Sr. and Elizabeth Bowman (Macon); his sister Julia "Dale" Brinkley; and his daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Macon Cates. He is survived by: his wife B. J. Bowman; and his children, Mary Katherine Haynes (Mark), William Kirkland Bowman III (Sandy), Julie Anne Bowman, Rebecca Lynn East (Stephen) and Jennifer Westrich (Mark).
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
