He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Swager and Mary Swager; and his siblings, Sam Swager, Harvey Swager and Fannie Raney.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Colleen Clark; and his children, John Swager Jr. and Regina Payton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as extended family members and many friends.
