He is survived by: his wife Heather Whelan; his children, Ashley Heryer (John), Adam Whelan (Megan), Christopher Whelan (Madison) and Catherine Whelan; his grandchildren, Rowan, Nate, Norah Heryer, Graham and Gracie Whelan; and his siblings, Greg Whelan, Tim Whelan and Karen Whelan.
