He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence L. Mertensmeyer and Nellie Mertensmeyer (Backes); and his sisters, Mary Kay Tansey and Mary Margaret Mertensmeyer. He is survived by: his siblings, Jerry Mertensmeyer of Fayetteville, AR, Judy Kipping (Fred) of Carrollton, Linda Brock (R. M.) of Carrollton, Tom Mertensmeyer (Cynthia) of Phoenix, AZ and Steve Mertensmeyer of Kansas City. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
