It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Syota Mays (Carrollton, Missouri), who passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Syota Mays to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John B. Finnell and Lillian F. Finnell (Martin); her siblings, Marlene Preston Finnell, Frances Finnell and Vernell Finnell; her former life partner Frank Mays; and her son Melvin Mays.

She is survived by : her daughter-in-law Rita; her sister Marjorie Bigby; her sons, Glenn Mays (Celeste) of Clinton Mo, Darryl Finnell of St. Joeseph, David Finnell of Blue Springs and Byron Mays (Rita) of Lawrence, KS; her sister Lovea Kern of Kansas City; and her nieces, Lisa Kern of Kansas City, MO and Julie Slaughter (Dallas) of Kansas City, MO.
