With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David A. James of Carthage, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Justin C. James and Carrie E. James (Green); his siblings, J. C. "Jake" James and Ruth Carterman; and his grandson Derrick James.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita A. Hoover; his children, Dale A. James (Becky) of Jasper, Dustin James (Karen) of Joplin, Missouri, Julie Bittick (Tom) of Carthage, Jennifer Haines (Jack) of Englewood, Jodi Low (Clark) of Fairgrove and Jan Caddick (Justin) of Sarcoxie, Missouri; his grandchildren, Tom Bittick, Jr., Casey Bittick, Justin James, Melissa Talcott, Luke Talcott, Davey James, Kristin Caddick, Cassidy Rideout, Wilder James, Pearson James, Kaleb Caddick, Cameron Low and Nicholas Low; and his sisters, Gloria Thomas of Carthage, Missouri. and Janice Bastings (Danny) of Carthage, Missouri.. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren: one great great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ulmer Funeral Home (1208 S Garrison Ave, Carthage, MO 64836). A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
