She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Ambrose Spradling and Helen Montgomery Spradling; her husband Robert L Platt; and her siblings, James R. Spradling, Harry M. Spradling and Helen S. Boylan.
She is survived by: her children, Lauren Platt Laird (Rob) and Sam Platt (Rebecca); her stepchildren, Susan Jacobsen (Borge), Nick Platt (Sally) and Rick Locarni; her grandchildren, Chris Jacobsen, Andrew Platt (Greta), Jon Platt (Kea Parker), Michael "Boomer" Laird, Emily Laird, Creighton Platt, Owen Platt, Emily Brecheisen (Tristan) and Dia Moody; and her great grandchildren, Chance Jacobsen, Rowdy Jacobsen, Henry Platt, Esther Platt, Illeana Platt, Everette Platt, Stanley Platt, Inez Platt, Charlie Rose Costello and Willow Brecheisen.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Knell Mortuary (308 W Chestnut St, Carthage, MO 64836). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Grace Episcopal Church (820 Howard St, Carthage, MO 64836).
She was a founding member of the Helen S. Boylan Foundation serving as Chairman and she served on the Carthage Public Library Board.
