He is survived by: his wife Pamela Wright; his children, Jimmy Ray Backerman II, Sandra (Darrell), Littrell of Prairie Grove, Regina Hight (Brian) of Winslow, Melissa Hunter of Joplin, Chad Backerman (Nicole) and Jodie Davis (Rex) of Carthage, Missouri; his grandchildren, Logan, Madison Backerman, Marci Reynolds, Levi, Leslie Jones, Angela Wallager, Steven Pearish II, Brett, Cole Backerman, Brittney Engelken and Emilee Gill; and his siblings, Gene Backerman (Becky) of Lamar, Charles "Jinks" Wyrick (Pam) of Carl Junction, Missouri, Judy Norton (Wally) of Lamar, Judy Silkwood of Neosho and Linda Cook (Ed) of Liberal, Missouri.. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
