He was predeceased by : his parents, James Wells and Jessie Wells (Smith); his wife Lucille "Tenny" Lovell; and his granddaughters, Faith Mullen and Tenny Mullen.

He is survived by : his children, James Wells (Rene), Aaron Wells (Mary), Heather Worley (Daniel) and Mary Young (Andy). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters; and many extended family and friends.
