He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas B. Douglass and Karen Douglass (Jensenius); his wife Rose Marie Frye; and his son Thomas Douglass. He is survived by: his sons, Robert Douglass and Eric Douglass; and his grandchildren, Amanda Wolz (Brady), Caitlin Berding, Jon Douglass (Melissa), Daniel Douglass and Michael Douglass.

He took great pleasure in sharing the fruits of his labor, often donating buckets full of broccoli, potatoes, and tomatoes to the Salvation Army and St. Luke's Nursing Center.
