He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Prater and Geraldine Jarred; his sister Angela Lafferty; and his son-in-law Jeremy Abrams. He is survived by: his wife Susan Prater; his children, Ronnie Prater Jr. (Rita), Howard Prater, Cathryn Abrams, Amanda Maclin (Shawn), Nicholas Wallace (Whisper Wirtts), Sarah Beth Carpenter (Alex) and James Prater; his brothers, Dale Dormer (Renee), Earl Dormer, Don Prater (Mary Battles), Guy Prater (Linda) and Michael Prater; and his grandchildren, Jerry Painter, Jordan Prater, Christian Dodson, Ronnie Prater III, Camron Prater, Haley Prater, Breanna Morrison, Jesse Prater, Cole Lindsey, Dallas Prater, Kingsley Prater, Brayden Prater, Hunter Maclin, Kaitlyn Maclin, Tarrna Wirts, Amelia Prater-Jones and Eliza Abrams. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (801 Ward Ave, Caruthersville, MO 63830). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Maple Cemetery (Caruthersville, MO 63830).
