With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Ausmus of Centralia, Missouri, born in Columbia, Missouri, who passed away on January 8, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Wilson Spencer and Maxine Johnson (Merideth); and her brother William Eugene "Butch" Johnson. She is survived by : her husband James T. Ausmus; her sons, James T. Ausmus II (Sarah), Jeffrey K. Ausmus (Julie) and Joseph Andrew Ausmus (Christy); her grandchildren, Janeka Ausmus, Brittany Ann Heater, Jeffrey Kingsland Ausmus II, Lindsey Brooke Ausmus, Adam Reginald Ausmus, Alexander Kost Ausmus and Andrew Peter James Ausmus; her great grandchildren, Mikyan Ehnert, Avery Joann Wood, Benton Lee Palmer, Levi Kingsland Ausmus, Charlotte Stocks Ausmus and Chase Alan Heater; and her brother Larre Dean Johnson.
