He was predeceased by: his father Troy Arthur Smith; his great-aunt Alvina; and his uncle Lonnie Stader. He is survived by: his mother Sue Smith (Hunt) of Charleston; his sisters, Alice Haddock (Joel) and Toni McCaffrey (Matt); his daughter Aaren Barton; his grandchildren, Aubrey and Mason; and his nephews, Joshua Haddock and Dalton Haddock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
