We announce the death of Donald Lee Sams of Charleston, Missouri, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 85. Donald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hershel Sams (Margaret Louise Fields Sams) and Donnie; his son Jay Dee Sams; and his siblings, Bernice Pullen, Billy Sams, Norma Faye McConnell and Allen Sams.
He is survived by: his wife Norma O'Reilly; his son Jeffery S. Sams; and his grandchildren, Riley, Zach and Jason.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mc Mikle Funeral Homes (201 S Center St, Charleston, MO 63834). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, plants and gift items, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the Charleston City Dog Pound, c/o Charleston Animal Health Center, 1225 East Marshall Street, Charleston, MO 63834 or by calling 573-683-4445.
