Monroe Black Obituary

The world bids farewell to Monroe Black of Charleston, Missouri, departing on October 27, 2025 at the age of 75. Monroe leaves behind memories cherished by the community. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Monroe Black to show support.

As we bid Monroe farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Monroe is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lanie George Black, Jr. and Sue Belle Whitehead Black; and his brother Lanie George Black, III. He is survived by: his wife Martha Ellen Burke. He is also survived by his two brothers-in-law and their lovely wives, a sister-in-law, six nephews, a niece, and a large extended family.

In lieu of flowers, plants and gift items, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the Susanna Wesley Family Learning Center, P.O. Box 187, Charleston, MO 63834, the Charleston Nutrition Center, 205 W. Commercial Street, Charleston, MO 63834 or to the charity of donor's choice.
