He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hale and Aleen Hale; his stepmother Louise Hale; and his brothers, Douglas and Randy Hale.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia J. Buchholz; his sons, Jonah Hale and Corey Kazarian (Kelly Kress); his child-in-law Kris Williamson (Mike); his grandchildren, Brittaney Shaner, Kalie Hale (Jacob Cooper), Grace Hale (Chris Birely), Jess Hale and Audrey Williamson; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Isabella, Avery, Jesse, Gianna and Mia; his stepbrother Don Turnure (Wanda); and his siblings-in-law, Kathleen Buchholz (late James), Thomas Buchholz (Jennifer), Ruth Ann Buchholz-Smith (late Tom) and Donald Buchholz (Sharon).
