He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Norman J. Ehlinger Sr. and Dorothy Ehlinger; and his brother Michael Ehlinger. He is survived by: his children, Jessica Vaughn and John Jacob Ehlinger; his grandchildren, Vivian Ehlinger, Isabella Ehlinger, Colin Vaughn and Declan Vaughn; his siblings, John Ehlinger and Sharon Osborn; and his close friend Denise Maurer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home (12444 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 1054 N Woods Mill Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
