He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Berning and Richard Sr. Berning; and his son Richard Berning III. He is survived by: his wife Lorri Berning; his daughters, Jennifer Berning and Lauren Grimm (Adam); and his sisters, Kathy Goodwin (Jim) and Carol Groulx. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
