It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ellen Dee Whitmer of Chillicothe, Missouri, who passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elma Shadduck and Forrest Shadduck; her husband Gene Austin Whitmer of Hamilton, MO; her siblings, Doris Cornelius and Paul Shadduck; and her nephews, Michael Shadduck and Johnny Larimer.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Ellen Kincaid (Dowell) of Chillicothe, MO. and Terri Jean Figg (Troy) of Chillicothe, MO.; her grandchildren, Scott Kincaid (Laura) of Ames, IA, Staci Wright (Nate) of Roeland Park, KS, Travis Figg (Meghann) of Columbia, MO, Trent Figg (Tori) of Caledonia, MI, Taryn Schumacher (Cody) of Keller, TX and Ty Figg (Lillian) of Columbia, MO.; her great grandchildren, Leah, Austin, Cole, Jenna Kincaid of Ames, IA, Andrew, Anna Wright of Roeland Park, KS, Avery, Wesley, Bowen Figg of Columbia, MO, Titus, Thomas, Tobias Figg of Caledonia, MI, Brynlee, Bennett and Blair Schumacher of Keller, TX; her sister Elma Joy Larimer of Centennial, CO; and her sister-in-law Merle Shadduck of Peculiar, MO. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church - Chillicothe (1414 Walnut St, Chillicothe, MO 64601).
