He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Gates and Margaret Isabel Gates (Hibler); and his brother Terry Lynn Gates. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Gabrielle Thompson (Dustin), Geana Dudley (Drew), Jessica Griffin (Danny), Gillen Gates, Hallee Bonderer (Brennan) and Hannah Jones; and his great grandchildren, Jailee, Sophie Griffin, Maddox, Maverick, Maizie Dudley, Ellynor, Genevieve, Weston Thompson, Skylie Williams, Dolly and Bishop Bonderer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lindley Funeral Home - Chillicothe (910 Washington St, Chillicothe, MO 64601).
