She was predeceased by: her mother Shirley Gupton; and her brother-in-law Don O'Dell. She is survived by: her sisters, Carolyn Schmidt (Larry) of Spickard and Sheryl Whiteman-O'Dell of Chillicothe, Missouri.; her nieces, Ashley Schmidt, Megan Peters (Brad) and Emily Hight (Andy); and her great-nephews, Marshall, Corbin, Jake, Burke and Drew.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lindley Funeral Home - Chillicothe (910 Washington St, Chillicothe, MO 64601). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Lindley Funeral Home (910 Washington St, Chillicothe, MO 64601).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter, honoring Karen's love for animals.
