He is survived by : his children, Kevin Laye of Republic, MO, Patrick Parker (Erica) of Clarence, MO and Jazzman Laye of Kansas City, MO; and his siblings, Ernie Johnston, Richard Johnston and Beverly Campbell. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
